About

Hi, Iโ€™m KaSandra โ€” the home baker behind Everyday Better Bites.

This site is where I share the way I really cook and bake at home: small batches, simple recipes, and everyday treats made with a little extra care.

Iโ€™m based in California, where the variety of ingredients, flavors, and food inspiration is endless. From fresh produce to global influences, living here has shaped the way I think about simple food and creative flavor combinations.

I love working with color and texture, always looking for simple ways to make small bites that feel both inviting and a little creative.

For many years, my kitchen centered around a busy household while raising 6 kids. Now, as a grandma with more time to create, Iโ€™ve come back to something Iโ€™ve always loved โ€” making homemade food thatโ€™s practical, comforting, and thoughtfully made.

Everyday Better Bites grew from that season of life. I experiment with simple ingredient swaps when they make sense โ€” using whole grains, adjusting sugars and fats, and choosing recognizable ingredients whenever possible. The goal isnโ€™t diet food or complicated โ€œhealth recipes.โ€ Itโ€™s real food that tastes good and fits everyday life.

I pay attention to the small details that make homemade treats feel special โ€” fresh citrus zest, simple frostings made with real ingredients, and natural color and texture. Inspiration often comes from seasonal produce, local flavors, and everyday creativity.

Here youโ€™ll find:

  • Small-batch desserts and sweet bites
  • Simple savory recipes and everyday snacks
  • Practical ingredient swaps that donโ€™t sacrifice flavor
  • Recipes designed to be easy, realistic
  • Some color and zesting ‘play’ with frosting

All recipes are developed and tested in a home kitchen and written with everyday cooks in mind. I focus on straightforward methods, accessible ingredients, and portions that fit real households.

Why Small Batch?

Small-batch cooking helps reduce waste, keeps ingredients fresh, and makes it easier to enjoy homemade treats without ending up with too much. It also makes trying something new simple and low-commitment.

Everyday Better Bites is about simple food, small portions, and homemade comfort โ€” made to fit real life.
